Emsworth House is situated on the Essex/Suffolk border overlooking the Stour estuary, two minutes walk from the house. Harwich is 7 miles, Colchester 12 miles, Ipswich 14 miles, London 62 miles (via A12 and A120). Main line trains from London, Liverpool Street to Manningtree (about 55 minutes).

From the A14 take A137 to Manningtree:

At Manningtree Station roundabout left B1352 go through Manningtree and Mistley past fields... sharp bends up hill Emsworth House on left.
 

From A12 take A120 towards Harwich: 

bypass Colchester, slip road to A120 just past Petrol station.... Horsley Cross roundabout turn left  B1035 at T.V. transmitter mast turn right into Bradfield. Emsworth House is 2 miles through village on right down hill...if you get to the bottom of the hill you have just missed me! 

From Harwich Ferry. Parkeston:

Take main exit from Ferry terminal

Turn right onto A120 until you reach the junction with the B1352 Wrabness road.

Turn right when you reach Bradfield. The Stangers Home pub will be opposite. The church will be on your left. Emsworth House is on the right about one mile from the church. The entrance is down the hill just past a wide grassy bank.
